The Douglasville Parks and Recreation Department operates five parks within the city limits. The city’s parks system totals 391 acres, including many specialty facilities such as ball fields, a swimming pool, fishing lake, walking track, tennis courts, gymnasium, and recreation activity centers. Also included in the park system is West Pines Golf Club and Fowler Field Soccer Complex.

Douglasville’s largest park is Hunter Park, headquarters of the Douglasville Parks and Recreation Department. The park features a 16,000-square foot community center and covered playground, a five-acre lake surrounded by a walking track and miniature train and several picnic areas. The newly renovated athletic complex includes seven Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA) certified tennis courts, 10 ball fields, a Miracle League ball field, and 12 new batting cages. Hunter Park is host to many festivals, sports activities and recreational events.
